Between March 11-13, 2015 all the partners came together for a last occasion in the framework of the SELVET project. MCAST proved to be a fantastic host! We took part in inspiring programmes/activities and we already started to prepare our next project: we would like to set up a SEL programme in a Hungarian VET school and in MCAST in the near future. A detailed meeting report can be found on the project blog: http://selvet.weebly.com/blog.
There is only one smaller meeting left: the Dutch, UK and Hungarian partner will meet soon in Budapest to put together the main output of our project, the SELVET toolkit/guidebook. Meet you one last time in Budapest! The SELVET partners met again for the 4th time, now in London, between 20-22 October, 2014. By now we learnt so many new ideas and methods from each other that we decided to continue our cooperation and start a SEL programme for VET in the near future.
You can read more about the meeting, download presentations and see pictures on the project blog: http://selvet.weebly.com/blog. Our 3rd meeting took place in the Hague, between 10-12 September, 2014. We learnt about the SEL programme ("Skills for Life") of the Hague The Hague University of Applied Sciences and we also got to know its various adaptional possibilities (e.g. for soccer clubs). Our host invited Roger Weissberg, the Board Vice Chair and Chief Knowledge Officer of CASEL (the leading US organisation in the field of promoting and evaluating SEL programmes). You can read more about the role and goals of CASEL here: http://www.casel.org/. The meeting report and the presentations can be found on the project blog: http://selvet.weebly.com/blog. The Toolkit is ready and available for all! The Toolkit includes those intergenerational good practices we learnt about during 2012 and 2014, in the framework of the WISE Grundtvig Learning Partnership programme. The WISE Toolkit presents Hungarian, French, Spanish, Polish and Romanian intergenerational good practices in a way that makes it easy for interested organisations to see how such programmes can be set up. The Toolkit also introduces the project itself and the project partners, their local activities during this 2 year period, some relevant background literature and useful external resources. The toolkit is available here: http://wiseproject.weebly.com/resources/wise-toolkit Our second project meeting in Göttingen was held between June 11-13, 2014. We got an overview about the German educational system in general, and also about the German vocational system. We also got familiar with a series of Social emotional learning programmes carried out in German secondary schools (gymnasiums and vocational schools). For more details click here: http://selvet.weebly.com/blog
The last meeting and closing event of the WISE project was held in Romania (Brasov and Fagaras) between 24-26 April 2014. Our main result, a toolkit will soon be available on the project blog. The toolkit will present the intergenerational good practices we learnt about during the past 2 years, and will also include relevant background literature and useful links in the field. The last meeting report is available here: http://wiseproject.weebly.com/events/5th-meeting-in-brasov-and-in-fagaras What does it mean? Social and Emotional Learning in Vocational Education and Training What is it about? The long-term employability of job seekers doesn't rely only on their professional competencies, as motivation, persistence, cooperative skills, emotional stability also play an important part. In this project we look for good practices in the field of social and emotional learning (SEL). The project runs from August 2013 to August 2015. The webpage of the project can be found here: http://selvet.weebly.com/ Throughout 2013 we organised community building programmes for the habitants of a huge block of flats, located in the 9th district of Budapest. The project was sponsored by Telekom's Hello Tomorrow grant. Among others, we organised a May Day festival (with musicians, chess teacher, fortune teller, exhange of use goods), a table tennis competiton, cultural evenings and we collected home made recipes. We made interviews with habitants about their memories and stories of the house. The project partners met in Barcelona between 17-19 October 2013, where they learnt about interesting intergenerational good practices. The meeting report is available here: http://wiseproject.weebly.com/events/4th-meeting-in-barcelona You will find more information about the project on the project blog and here: http://www.akutfoundation.org/home/our-project-wise-has-just-started |
